John D. Loudermilk's "Tobacco Road" from 1960, recorded at The Downtown Hall Of Fame in Hutto, Texas, on January 28th, 2017. This was our first time playing it outside of the Ultra High Tech Super Secret SUIT Rehearsal Facility so it's still a little rough around the edges, but our version draws heavily from Edgar Winter's White Trash's version from the 1972 album "Roadwork."
Since we didn't get to play our usual "Christmas Show" this year, we set up the camera in the Ultra High Tech Super Secret SUIT Rehearsal Facility (cleverly disguised to look like a garage) and recorded a Christmas song for you. It's our version of "I'm the Real Santa" by the Swedish band The Refreshments. Happy holidays y'all!
Here's another one that goes all the way back for us: "Key to the Highway," recorded at Junior's in Round Rock, Texas, on March 5th, 2016.
"Key to the Highway" was originally written and recorded by Charlie Segar in 1940, but it was the Jazz Gillum/Big Bill Broonzy version shortly thereafter that set the standard for how we know the song today. Little Walter electrified it in 1958 and countless others have covered it since then.
